Shopping local is the ultimate convenience and Green Square’s high street is becoming more interesting by the day with cafes and restaurants for coffee on the run, a mid-week bite or a leisurely weekend brunch. With a local Green Square supermarket, stocking up doesn’t require a car. Nearby at Surry Hills, East Village Zetland, Alexandria and Waterloo there are even more tantalising retail options and places to dine out. Lead image is artist impression.

Central to the vision for the urban renewal of Green Square Town Centre is the provision of facilities that bring the community together. Transport came first with the Green Square Train Station, then the Civic Plaza with its award-winning library. The Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre, inspired by Sydney’s legendary ocean baths, will soon be open for swimming and exercise, and construction of Green Square’s central park, The Drying Green, has begun. Joynton Avenue Creative Centre is already a thriving community and cultural hub while the cafes and restaurants are establishing Green Square as Sydney’s most exciting new eat street.
